Editorial Review: As the room fills with poison gas, you and Qui-Gon race down the hall and stop in front of five Trade Federation droids. Your lightsaber hums to life as you and your master block and reflect the hail of blaster bolts, leaving the offending droids in pieces. As your enemies grow to seemingly hopeless numbers, you extend your hand in a Jedi force push. Again all that is left are fried circuits. Leaping over chasms, destroying droid armies, saving entire planets is all in a day's work when you are a Jedi. And we all want to be Jedi... right?
In Star Wars: Episode I, The Phantom Menace, you assume the roles of Obi Wan, Qui-Gon, Queen Amidala, and Captain Panaka as they struggle to save Naboo and defeat the Trade Federation's sinister agents. Exciting battles, terrific sound effects, and a true-to-the-movie story line make this game a treat for any Star Wars fan. The graphics could be sharper, but the overall Star Wars experience is not diminished by this fact. Instead, the gameplay itself takes you away from an immersive Star Wars feel: it's just strange to see a Jedi use a rocket launcher. I was also hoping that lightsabers would cut through just about anything, but sadly this is not the case--some robots even need to be hit multiple times before they go down. And it's just sad to see a Jedi's progress in an outdoor level blocked by simple shrubbery. Still, like the movie itself, Star Wars: Episode One, The Phantom Menace overcomes its minor flaws to deliver a thrilling experience. --Allen Stewart
Pros:
You get to use a lightsaber
Dual shock controllers vibrate with the saber's movement
Great music video of "Duel of the Fates" included
Cons:
Graphics could be better
Voice-overs are rather weak

Rating: - Gameplay is the key.
I first played this when i was 12 and absolutely loved it. i dont have a playstation anymore but im ordering it to play on my ps2. Yes, the graphics are terrible, the sound isnt good, but the actual gameplay itself is so much fun. this game has a free roaming feel to it, because you can do whatever you want. lots of random glitches happen but if you save your game every once in a while then its no big. Also, a lot of the one star reviews kept saying that when you die in a level you have to start all the way over...this is the case but what they didnt say is that you can save your game at any time down to the second. you have a huge jump to cross a gap? just save it, and if you dont make it, load your game and you'll end up right where you were. not great, but overall a fun game. the gameplay is what got this one 4 stars.

below jar jar binks is stupid.anyways I thought this was a fun game.the graphics arent that great for our time but whatever. I thought it was kinda hard though.endless trying to make jumps, mazes and trying to avoid getting blown up by tanks, getting eaten by fish, missing elevators and falling to your doom, tring to protect people and they get killed, following anakin through mos espa, trying to make deals with people and getting scammed.if your child is under 8, do not buy this for him he will just get frustrated even with the first level.

This is a very Good game. It is so good. You get to play a lot of diffrent characters, like, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, Queen Amidala & Captian Panaka. It woyuld be cool if they let you play Jar Jar Binks, but they don't. Oh, weel. Jar jar is one of my Favorite Characters in the film. the best part is you get to battle darth Maul. and it goes along with the movie too. This game rocks. This is a must have game for all star wars fans.
If you liked this game then check out all of the other Star wars games

I got this game a long time ago before i even knew how to play this game and now, that i am old enough to understand, i am slightly disappointed. these are some reasons why:
GRAPHICS:
The graphics are somewhat "bad" and there is no horizon, just
orange sky. The character faces are really messed up and whack
but it's acceptable.
GAMEPLAY:
This is why the game is fun, the gameplay. Following the movie
is always cool (in my opinion) and likeing the movie phantom
menace, it's awsome reliving the movie. There are so many
combinations on how you tap/press/hold your attack button. there are so many combinations.
DIFFICULTY/skill and control:
this part can sometimes be fustrating because you cannot block
other weapons (light sabers, staffs etc.) the only time you can block something is when you are deflecting blaster fire. that's
where the whole game becomes a baseball game. And it's also pure luck that whither you deflect a shot or get hit.
OVERALL:
this game was pretty good, but however, not too fun such as
battlefront or something. sometimes, it takes cheating to win
warning the following capital words are cheats and spoilers!
FOR PC, PRESS BACKSPACE AND TYPE IN "HAPPY" IF YOU HAVE AN AUTO-
MATIC LIGHT BLASTER. IT WILL TURN YOUR AUTOMATIC LIGHT BLASTER
INTO A AUTOMATIC CANNO. "HEAL IT UP" IS FULL HEALTH. "I LIKE TO CHEAT GIVES YOU ALL THE WEAPONS IN THE GAME FOR THE CERTAIN CHARACTER. "IAMQUIGON" MAKES YOU QUI-GON. "IAMOBI" MAKES YOU OBI WAN. "IAMQUEEN" MAKES YOU PADME. "IAMPANAKA" MAKES YOU CAPTAIN PANAKA, THE BODYGAURD OF THE QUEEN. IF YOU DO CHEATS 5 TIMES, YOU CAN'T DO ANYMORE CHEATS, HOWEVER YOU CAN DO THE FOLLOWING I AM CHEATS UNLIMITED TIMES.
No more spoilers! overall, if you are interested in this game,
i would totally recomended renting first. It just might so
happen that you will love this game. A WORD OF ADVICE, AT THE
LAST LVL WITH DARTH MAUL, SHOOT MAUL WITH A REAPEATING CANNON.
See you later alligator (no offense)
Rating: - Okay..........................................What now?
This game is okay. They add too much off the story line. Also, it gets fustrating when they make you have to find stuf or mind puzlles
