Rating: - Doesn't work with Game Genie
It works well enough, but I figured I'd let my fellow cheaters know that if you plan to use a Game Genie you'll have to get a regular NES and/or SNES console. Bummer!
Rating: - FC Twin - Worked well for a week and now some issues
I recently bought the FC Twin and right off the bat I noticed that the RCA's provided and the power cord are very short for my use. Not a big problem, but that's still some extra cost for people that need more length. Once I remedied that it worked fine for a bit, maybe a week or two. Then one day the controllers started acting up. They'd seriously do whatever they wanted, and none of the buttons would do what they were supposed to. Heck, you could even hit two random buttons and it would pause the game! Then they magically worked again for a few days and recently they started doing it again. Not even my old SNES controllers (which do work) will work. It's like the connection at the FC Twin aren't fully connected. I've contacted the seller to see what options exist for me.
So in summary - short power chord and RCA's, fun for a week, now the controllers have a mind of their own.
Rating: - Imitation!
Another Yobo ripoff of the Nintendo classics. Get a real Nintendo, not this stupid FC Twin. The only reason this is at all better and more compact, blah blah blah is because it was first made 5 years ago, not 23 (like the NES). If you really want to play the classics, then you have to play the NES, or the SNES. You can buy a great condition refurbished NES for $30 off of Pedro Games. You know, that's $10 less than this.
Nintendo NES System - Video Game Console
Get real. Get a real Nintendo. Not another Chinese clone.
Rating: - Great system...beats ROM Emulation hands-down!
I'm happy with this little guy! I was very skeptical at first, but being an avid classic gamer I decided to give it a shot. I'm on of the legions of 20-somethings who sold their old NES and SNES games to upgrade and now I'm regretting it.
The YOBO plays well...I've had mine for almost a year now and I've never had any real problems with the system. My only complaint is that it seems to have some framerate issues with faster-paced games (Dodgeball for the NES and Contra III: The Alien Wars for SNES). But, from talking with friends, I think these games actually had framerate issues back in the day when played on native NES or SNES systems.
I think I paid a bit much for mine...I paid $80 at a local game store but have seen them for sale online for as little as $25. A good investment for anyone who is a fan of classic gaming who wants to do it the legal way. Roms and PC Emulators are fun, but they're not the orignals. Long live CLASSIC GAMES!
