Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Not Quite as Good as Super Mario 64!
Though this game plays a lot like Super Mario 64 it is not quite as good. That is because everything you do a each level you have to repeat as a different character so it gets too redundant. It was a lot easier to beat than Mario 64 as some of those stars are very difficult to get. There are very few in this game that are very difficult.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - This game is officially really, really weird.
Donkey Kong Country holds a special place in my heart as one of my favorite series of all time. Here, Rare has carried the series into 3D. But something happened along the way. It kind of became a Banjo-Kazooie clone, with the distinction of being less fun and more weird. Seriously, this game has an odd sense of humor that I don't quite get. Somebody at Rare was really off his rocker on this one. For example, the entire opening sequence is super-dramatic and intense...in a kind of mocking way. Then there's the totally bizarre characters such as Lanky Kong. There's really, really disturbing boss fights with possessed giant toys and cardboard cut-outs. The final boss is in a boxing ring and is equally strange. I got a really weird vibe from this game, and I didn't enjoy it as much as Banjo-Kazooie or -Tooie. Still, it's got Rare's level of quality and charm at least.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of the best games for the N64.
This game is defintely one of my favorite games for the N64. DK is back and this, he has 4 other kongs with him. The other kongs are Diddy, Lanky, Tiny, and Chunky. There is also a DK Rap before the title screen.

Each Kong's collectibles have their own color.

DK: Yellow
Diddy: Red
Lanky: Blue
Tiny: Purple
Chunky: Green

There are 7 worlds (excluding Hideout Helm). In each world you must 25 golden bananas (5 for each Kong), 2 fairys, 1 battle crown, and 500 colored Bananas (100 for each Kong).

If you don't have this game, buy it now. You'll love that action that's in it. It's definitely one of my favorite games ever. You'll get to control all 5 kongs, which is cool.

So, buy the game now.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - How is this supposed to be fun?
What a weird game. I got this expecting the same type of thing that was going on in those great super nintendo games. But hey, if you like confusing and weird puzzles than you might enjoy this game. I suggest that you get it anyway but only to see how different it is than the dk country games. This is a puzzle level game, not a dk country game. I got bored and annoyed with it and stopped playing after having it for a few weeks.

These are my updated comments. Recently, I challenged my review above and my view of this game. I decided to learn how to get good at it, thus, leading to enjoyment of the game. I actually got hooked, playing it for over 80 hours so far. Point being, this game is not awful, it is, however, tricky. If you enjoy Glover or even if you somehow found a way to enjoy Mario 64, you will like this game. I would say that my new rating of fun would be 4 of 5 and my new overall would be 3 of 5. The overall is still low because of how frustrating this game is.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Another Excellent Donkey Kong Game
My mom bought this for me for my birthday when I was turning 10. It comes with the only Donkey Kong 64 which is probably the biggest platform game of Nintendo 64. It has great graphics and the music matches each world perfectly. I love how you have to use each of the 5 characters to beat the level instead of just picking your favorite. Each character brings different strengths to the table and have different weapons, moves, and instruments. The boss battles are clever and creative and the final battle against King K. Rool is one of the best in all of video games.
