This controller is simply awkward and counterintuitive in its use. Yes, it is ergonomic in terms of how it sits in the hand, but the use of the buttons and their placement is awkward. It takes a long time to get used to the X, Y and, especially, the Z button. Sure, one can get used to it over time, but that can be said of anything. The bottom line is that this controller is less intuitive than either the PS2 controller or the X-Box controller. Gamecube is a fine system, but the controller dept could use some adjustment, in my opinion.

You should see the way my son plays with this controller! But despite his over enthusiasm, the controller has held its own. I have three, two of which are second-hand but they are all working perfectly. Don't get sucked in by imitations.

this controller is whatn any gamer would dream of, the buttons are located in very well thought out postions, and the sleek design is amazing compared to the now chunky looking N64 controller. it takes some getting used to, but in 2 hours you'll be home free. i dont get all these ppl complaining about the z button. if it were on the underside of the controller, which side would it be on? if were on the right side, left handed gamers would be disappointed. solution? put it on the top!easy. simple. i would get gamecube just for the easy controls, i hate the xbox's start button!ahh.gamecube.the joy of nintendo:-)

This controller is awesome. You don't exactly need big hands to play. The A button is enormous! I don't know what these people are talking about with the Z button. It's in a perfect place. The controller is warm looks nice and has a great button layout. I thought that the N64 controller was good, but compared to this it's huge, feels like [inexpensive] plastic, and has an ugly color. Beileve me, you'll like this controller. You don't have to get that [costly] wireless one, just get this.

Word of advise as we approach the holiday season. Stay away from thrid part products for Nintendo. This controller is [inexpensive] enough to merrit the extra five bucks. You will not be disappointed.
This is a necessity if you have more than one gamer in the house, and mandatory to get the most fun out of Mario Party 4.
