You read that correctly. There is no superhero game in existence that is better than this. I base that on faithfulness to the character, ability to actually use all of your superhero powers at will, and sheer amount of diverse combos. In fact, there are so many combos, that you'll probably never use them all.
You literally feel like Spider-Man during gameplay. He jumps, he flips (dramatically), he sticks, he swings, he shoots webs, he cracks jokes, he crawls... (...even around edjes. Those who've played older Spider-Man games know why I mentioned that.) How can a fan not like this game?
Mark my words, the ONLY complaint there is to have about this game is the fact that you can't land on the street, when you're swinging around the city.
Oh, and one other thing, you can play this game twice, and it will be a slightly different game. By that I mean, you can actually play as the Green Goblin, enjoying ALL of his abilities as you fight through the game (unlike the Shocker or rumored Vulture cheat). You're even recognized as the Goblin throughout the game. Ingenious!

Wow!What a great game! Whoop! I lied.You have been lied to and cheated,they tolded you "this is such a great game". Well thats not true. The game was poorly done,a monkey could do a better job. Its like they hardly stuck anytime on it,like they just threw it out on the market. My advise to you is don't ever buy any Activision games,your lookin to get ripped. This is a really good game for Xbox and PS2 to shine their true colors,boxy. Oh, and another thing Nintendo did not make this game,they just licensed. I'm just telling that to the small minded that couldn't think.

Wow what a great game,whoops! I lied. For all those losers that told you this game is great,they are liers! First of all you should never buy Activision games you're always going to get ripped. Take it form me I played this game, the graphics sucked and every thing is boxy. It is a perfect game for Xbox and PS2 to shine their true colors,boxy. My advise to you don't rent or buy this game, you'll be bored out of your skull. Oh ya it was not Nintendo who made this game, they just licensed it. I am just telling that to those with small brains who can't look on the back of the cover.

This was my 2nd purchased game for the gamecube, and it was great!! Only once have I played a game that I didn't enjoy, because I read about games before I buy or rent them.
THE GOOD:
Okay, the first thing you will notice is how great the graphics are. Your surroundings look perfectly real, and the characters on the screen mirror there film counterparts in amazing detail. Anyone who says this game has bad graphics obviously doesn't understand what graphics are.
The levels are more than just fighting. You have stealth missions, a lot of times you have to get keys, operate computers and more.
The fighting controls are awesome, and the combos you pick up along the way make you look so cool while you beat people up. (Hint: Although its hard to find, there is an absolutely devastating combo in the Scorpion boss-fight. Look for it.)
You can really do everything spidey can. You can do all sorts of things with your web, crawl on any wall, hang from the ceiling, and a lot more.
THE BAD: Thankfully, there isn't too much of this. However, there is some. Some of the levels involve nothing but walking, when it comes down to it. A prime example is the Vulture's Tower, which is a TERRIBLE level. Not only is it extremely frustrating, but you do no fighting. All you do is struggle to find your way through this thoroughly irratating place. However, the OsCorp levels are far worse. They are an extreme bore as well as frustrating, sneaking around in the shadows and pulling levers. And the camera angle can be a little awkward at times.
Overall, though, this is a great and challenging game. If you like spidey, then buy or rent it.

Awsome game I just finished it two days after christmas which I got it for Christmas I loved it!My only question was why did they only put Kraven The Hunter my second most favirote super-villian from Spider-Man my first favirote is Venom!I wish they had Venom in the game instead of The Vultre!But still I gave it five stars!
