Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - mario party 4 rocks
mario party 4 is a fun game. It's fun to play with you're friends. If you're into games with basically every topic (fighting, adventure, etc.)then this game's for you.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Very entertaining, but not a "play everyday" game
Mario Party 4 is a worthy addition to the Mario Part series. The graphics are worlds better than the blocky N64 graphics of old. On top of that, there are tons of brand new mini-games, and that is really what the series is about.

First of all, I disliked Mario Party 3. I thought that Nintendo had had too much stuff going on, which dragged the game out for much longer than necessary. Mario Party 4 goes back to a much less crowded design and while there are many things that you can do while on the board, it doesn't seem to derail the game as much. Even so, the game still seems to play a little slowly. You may find yourself tapping your feet as everybody else does their turn and before you get into a mini-game. Even on the shortest game length setting the game can be a little tedious.

The mini-games are really good. There is a good selection of games where speed is needed, where skill is needed, and where cooperation is needed. You will probably not get many repeat mini-games during your game, but even if you do, you likely won't mind. They are pretty darn fun.

This game really is fun, even if you don't have three other humans to play against. Even playing against the computer is fun (if somewhat slow). Different enough to warrant buying even if you have the N64 ones (like I do). Very fun, and a must for anybody seeking a good multiplayer Gamecube game.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Simple Game Play Joy!
I love this game! I had so much fun playing with my kids. It's like a board game with a lot of interesting challenges and it's just plain good fun. The game is simple enough and you don't need to commit a whole lot of time to play. You can learn it as you go. Unlike other Game Cube games, this one did not make me dizzy. Playing Mario Party 4 is like being in an amusement park.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Very family friendly game.
This game is fun to play with everyone. There are so many mini-games inside the main game, I don't think we've played all of them yet. My wife, five yr old son and myself can all play and have the same chance of winning. The game has lots of replay value. I don't know if I'd pay full price. (We got it with the system when we bought it) I'd say $30 would be a fair price.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - These games get worse and worse...
Back when the first Mario Party was released, I thought that it was a very fun multi-player game. When the sequel came out, I enjoyed it as well. The third time however I was getting bored with the series, thinking that it was getting very repetitive. This 4th edition doesn't many bring many new changes to the gameplay. It's the same exact set-up it has been, and probably always will be. Nintendo needs to get it that that the Mario Party games just aren't fun anymore. Finishing a board is now a chore to do. So are some of the mini games. Don't get me wrong though, I actually enjoyed some of the mini games very much, which saved this game from getting no stars. But all in all, if you're going to get a Mario Party game, get one of the first two for the Nintendo 64. Those are better. Oh, and whatever you do, don't get the 5th one. I can tell it's going to be a re-hashed version of this edition.
