This game is packed fit to brust with minigames and I even brought it four days ago and I still find new minigames to play, and I play about one hour a day! It gets a bit annoying when you have to play story-mode or party-mode and unlock the minigames for minigame mode. But it takes little time for people to take their turn so every three and a half minutes you are back into a mini game. Minigames can be dull such as three throw when plays just have to throw basketballs in moving nets. While others are a great yell with your mates such as booksquirm when players have to try not to be squashed by turning pages and have to look for holes in them, you will want to kill the computer when it yet again pushs you and you get squished by a page. The items are cool apart from a magic lamp that takes players straight to a star it's way too easy to win with this item.
DON'T BUY THIS GAME IF: You hate waiting your turn and dislike short and sharp fun and just want it all the time. Minigame mode offers this but as I said you will have to unlock the games one by one in story or party-mode first. Better let your eager friend do this for you.
BUY THIS GAME IF: You love a variety of fun and games and like a laugh with your friends in front if the televison.

I'll be completely honest with you. Mario Party 4 was the very first of the Mario Party series I got my hands on. In fact, the decision to purchase Mario Party 4 was not on my behalf, it was my significant other's. Was I impressed? Was I disappointed? Read below and decipher for yourself!
Mario Party 4 is an impressive game * IF * you have others to participate 100% of the time. The Story Mode (single player) is close to garbage. So with that said, if you have no one around to join the "party", you're going to find yourself unhappy with this one.
The colorful graphics are great. Solid sounds accompanied by smooth gameplay. The multiplayer mode is great if you have skilled opponents around. The game's biggest downside is the lack of challenge on single player, and also the character selection. Who really wants to play as Wario or Waluigi?
Bottom line, great game if you have playmates, somewhat questionable if you're an independent gamer.

My favorite part of the game is the minigames!!! They are different than all the other Mario Party games. The board games are fun because they are also different than the other Mario Party board games.

$49.99 is how much this ridiculous game cost me, only for me to chuck it into a drawer in hopes of forgetting the mistake made when I purchased it.
The graphics were okay, but the game boards bit the big one. I didn't understand the purpose of the Mega Mushroom unless it was to cause players to loose 10 coins, that might I add, you don't get to keep. There were way to many usless items that could be bought and that pickle-smoocher Daisy seemed to always win the game (talk about your cheese-whiz). But what really annoyed me is that only a mere 3 months after purchasing it, THEY COME OUT WITH Mario Party 5?!!? I've been played. That's it, I'm off to burn that dang thing.
