I was excited when buying this Game Cube to later be dissappointed. First right after we bought it $99.99 amazon lowered the price to $49.99. Then we went to buy games for it to find out it had been discontinued and you can no longer buy new games for it. This game has been replaced by the Nintendo WII.

I must say this is way better than the nintendo 64. I love the super nintendo and then the 64 came out and I just did not like it. I am so glad they came out with the game cube. Much better.

This is the 3rd system I've bought, but due to some inexperience in what makes these things tick, I threw out the first one because the power wouldn't stay on after about a year of use. I bought a 2nd one for the next Xmas, and it started the same thing, but after less than a year, but I decided to hang onto this one and see if it could be fixed at a later date. So I bought a 3rd one for this Xmas, and to my surprise, it only lasted about 2 hours! This time, I called the company and after some minor diagnostics over the phone, I found out that it was a bad controller shutting down the system (one from the old system)! Yeah! So, since the 2nd one hadn't been thrown out, I tried the same diagnostics testing, and it was the same controller that was shutting down the system. So, they now have two systems -- one for upstairs and one for downstairs! The kids love this system because it's easy to use and they have lots of games for it. And, I found out from the company rep, that these games can be used in the new Wii if we decide to buy one.

I love the Nintendo GameCube and the fun games it offers. Unlike Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo still tries to engage the gamer with good games - it's not just about graphics (not to say the graphics on the 'Cube aren't good, they are awesome!). I also bought a coupl Wave Birds and couldn't be happier. They work perfectly from anywhere I am standing and are definitely worht the money if you don't want to be leashed to your system. The controllers have a nice contour to them and fit perfectly in my hands.

Still a very good option for small children (up to 11 years, my personal opinion) with fantastic game options for all family. We spent hours of fun playing games like mario party, zelda, mario kart, soccer... no violence, evryone can play, very good cost/benefit.
