This is a great console for all ages, no fancy blue-ray or HD that cost $500+!! This is a great console for girls too, for those who do not like to play games because Nintendo has a lot of very cute games like Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon...etc
I would choose this over Sony any time

I bought my gamecube over 5 years ago and I still enjoy playing the games. Its more of a kid's system than a serious gamer's system. It has simple controls and simple interface. If you're looking for a good, cheap system, dont mind it being old, and don't mind ordering all your games for it online (they don't have them in stores anymore), then this is for you.

I'm not a gamer. I haven't played other home systems. My main expereince is from playing at game centers when I lived in Japan. I've been renting games at Hollywood Video to try them out then buying used games at Game Stop. I play video games maybe once ot twice a month when I'm bored or just want to veg-out.

Unfortunately it is very hard to find any games for this system at all. However there are a lot of great titles to play and I would say this is the prototype for the Wii Console. A pair of wavebirds will compliment this classic system well.
