Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - related to star wars: republic commando
This game looks great but looks almost like star wars republic commando (I.E. getting stuff splattered on your visor and the helm veiw) to me the differences are that you are alone but in star wars republic commando, you fight among three other guys. Plus this game came out earlier and is only for gamecube, while starwars republic commando is for Xbox and PC. I would reccomend this game to Samus fans out there.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - To Dark!
Hey, I like all the shooting and finding new items and such, but what fun is that when you can't see anything? You have to sqint to see what your doing, and in some parts, you can't see at all! I did rate it 3 stars because I will admit that shooting at a hoard of bad guys is really fun. So if you want to buy this, DON'T! Rent it. It's up to you weather you like it or not, but make sure you just don't go out and purchese it.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Not the greatest game ever
Metroid Prime is ok. The storyline is that when Samus enters the Space Pirate's base, she loses practically all of her weapons. Now ya gotta get em' back. Once you do, you go on a big adventure and blah blah blah. Very fun.
Although I am not found of this game, I must give a hat's off to all the great graphics. The monsters seem very real and very creative for seeing everything through Samus's visor. Also, when mist fogs up her visor, rain splatters on it and her gun, and goop comes on the screen if you kill certain monsters.
The weapons I admit are very cool. The morph ball is one of my favorites. The music sets the mood of being in an alien world.
The short vidioes in between are also nice to watch.
There are more bad then good things in this game though (I think). In general this game is WAY too dark. You can't see a THING. The only way to find your way through a chamber is to shoot your gun off a million times to see where you're going. And by that I mean if it hits a wall, then that's not the way so you keep shootin' around until you find a passage way. I mean, couldn't they have given you a flashlight or somthing?
And how I mentioned earlier, the morph ball is my favorite because it gives off the smallest amount of light possible. And if you're wondering, you lose that so you're on your own.
Another thing. Save stations. Good God, you wouldn't believe how annoying it gets trying to find one of those forsaken things. Right when you do something important you wanna save it right? WRONG. It's like by sheer luck that you find one because all the chambers look exactly the same. In the corner of your screen it says,'Save Staion located.' And in your mind you go THANK YOU GOD! If you don't find one and you've just worked very hard to get to a boss and you die, well guess what? You've gotta start all over again.
So as my final conclusion, if you're into walking around in the dark, bumping into walls, dying and having to start all over again, having your thunb getting sore from shooting so much, and severe frustration, you must buy this game.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best Metroid installment in the series!
Okay, I loved fusion, original, zero mission, and super metroid but, this game beats them all in graphics, puzzles, and overall enjoyability.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great game, but not realy a FPS
To start off, this game has GREAT graphics. I cannot stress GREAT enough. All of your different visors and beams (I'll explain that later)look awsome. If you are obsessed with graphics you should definetly get this game.
As I saidd earlier, this is not a FPS. It's like a platformer action shooter with a first person veiw. It has elements of a 2D sidescoller, like when you fight againts a boss you shoot it in a specific spot and then you dodge its different attacks in a VERY similar style to a 2D game.
Basically you get 6 weapons in the game, 4 different beams withe different effects, plus missiles and missile-beam combinations, and morph ball bombs. You also get 4 different visors, which let you scan objects and enemys, and give you thermal and X-ray vision.
The gameplay is wierd and you dont get to manually aim (Because if you do it takes like 5 mintes to shot one spot) but once you get used to it it is alot of fun. There is a bunch of backtracking, so if you don't like that, watch out. Do not judge this game by the first level, which is very boring.
