Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - DOESNT EVEN WORK
Okay i got the action replay for madden rosters and for names on Ncaa rosters. Well i load on a roster i downloaded. Corrupt. I get somones that he got directly from his xbox. Didnt work.
dont get this whatever you do. Its a terrible product. Getting it to work is like playing Russian Roulette. Who knows if it will go. I think Datel did a terrible job and slacks off since their main product doesnt work. Bottom line DONT BUY IT.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Doomed from the Start
I'm an unabashed cheater. I like having infinite health so that I can sail into a series of moves repeatedly without getting whacked by my own clumsiness. Or recovering that lost object that I accidentally blew up when I fragged the castle. On many occasions, being able to hack the game has enhanced my overall enjoyment.

Unfortunately, the Xbox was designed to stop cheating. Not cheating at the game, but cheating as in hacking and illegally copying games. As a result, it is impossible to bypass the code logic in order to insert some instructions that change game data in an active way. The end result is that they have stopped all cheating.

A company like Action Replay is only left with one alternative - providing game saves that will get you by a playing problem. Unfortunately, this generally means that you don't get to actually play through parts of the game. So. At best, this is a compromise solution. One I can't get all that excited about. Cheating is OK. But not playing the game the way you want to is counter productive.

This package includes a CD with software for both the Xbox and you Windows 98 or better PC (required). Included is an 8 megabyte memory cartridge and a USB based cartridge holder for the PC. Basically you collect saved games from either the CD or online, install them on the cartridge and then tote it over to the Xbox, where you can use it.

Before you get a glint in your eye about file editing, let it be known that the software uses a compression scheme that can be uncompressed, but will not work if it is recompressed. Hopefully, some underhanded hacker will find a way around this, but right now this is a lowest common denominator type solution. And not a particularly useful one.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Action Replay
I think that the action replay is great because it really enhances your game play when you are stuck on something. It's also really cool because there are so many games listed on it for you to download..

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - It really doesn't work
Very disappointing. Apparently it works for some people, but it has not worked for me. I am an experienced computer user, and video gamer, so noobism isn't the problem.

The system allows you to take an Xbox-compatible memory chip that is part of the AR package, and to download saved games on to it from its web site. It comes with a little card reader that is attached to your PC via USB. The download is quite simple. There are two types - official downloads provided by the company, and community downloads. These are unsupported saved games provided by anyone out there. The whole thing runs in a neat little client application that allows simple drag-and-drop of files from their list either directly on to your memory chip, or into a folder on your PC for later use. Once you have the file of your choice on your chip, you insert it into your game controller, and copy the file on to your Xbox's hard drive.

I am currently only interested in the official downloads. I have no problem getting them on to the chip, but once loaded on to the Xbox, they are shown as corrupted, and can only be deleted. Unfortunately, this appears to be a very common problem.

The company (Intec/Datel/Codejunkies) provides a "Support" forum, but no support is actually offered. The only posts are from users telling each other that they are having the same problem, with no answers from the manufacturer. The company itself reminds you that they don't support the community saves... even when you make it clear that you are trying to use an official file, NOT a community save.

The system is seriously flawed. I recommend against buying it, unless you know someone who has it working, and can provide you with a work-around, or some kind of solution. Make sure to check their web site first, and run a search in the forum using your particular game name as a keyword. If there's a lot of problems, beware!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - This is a great product
I've only had mine a couple weeks, but I really love it. It's been great for games like Project Gotham 2, where I just want to race online and dont want to spend forever unlocking cars.

I saw other reviews where people complained of connectivity problems. I haven't had any problem connecting to their service, although it can take awhile on a slow connection to refresh the list of available downloads.
