I really don't think you can blame the controller because you were careless with it and left it somewhere the dog could chew it up. That's your fault, not the controller's, and it's not fair to give a controller 1 star because of something stupid that you or your dog did. (Wow, this is a good demonstration of why kids need to be supervised online. You're supposed to be over the age of 13 to write a review.)

This controller is the second best of the three systems (PS2 being the best!). At first I thought it would suck because of the looks. I was wrong. Once I started playing with it at a friends house, I found it to be very fun. It's so simple to use, but at the same time comfortable. I always look for that in a controller because I usually play videogames for hours and by some controllers my hands get soar. Well, not with this one!
Alltogether, there are 13 buttons, along with the 2 analog sticks. It has a perfect size for anyone with big or small hands and it is very unfragile.
Well, there's not much else to say, except if you want a gamecube, but aren't sure because of the controller, then buy one. And buy three of these controllers (any color) so all your friends can enjoy the multiplayer games with these cheap, easy-to-use and must-have controllers.

This is the Gamecube controller made by Nintendo. The reason that I say this is because I made the horrible mistake of purchasing a controller made by none other: CRAPPY PELICAN!!!
This controller is actually made with the gamers in mind. Since the average age of Gamecube and overall Nintendo players is about 9-11 years old, Nintendo made their controller reasonably smaller for smaller hands. Don't worry if you have larger hands though. Nintendo made this controller versatile so large and small hands can be comfortable.
Another cool fact about this controller is that the buttons are well placed and shaped. Once you play with this controller for a while, you will get used to the hand position. The A button is the large green one, the B button is the small red one, and the Y and X buttons are the kidney shaped ones. The L and R butttons are obviously on the top. The only problem, is that the Z button is poorly placed. It is rather squished between the R button and the end of the controller. That is the only flaw about button placement.
Overall, the controller is well designed. The color choices are good, considering that they come in the color of the systems (except orange). If you want to go even better, consider a Wavebird wireless. The price is reasonable for what you are getting.
I think that the controller is made of some cheap materials though. The joystick often pops out, and wiggles freely. Also, the A, B, Y, and X buttons wiggle. The R and L buttons are shaky too, but they are made with quality. The Z button has no problems, other than it's placement.
The Gamecube controller is very well made (with some cheap materials) and has great durability. Also, it fits small and large hands. It is very good.
Another thing that I don't like, is the legnth of the wire. It is very short (about 10 feet). If you want something that has a longer range, get the extention wire. It extends the legnth of the wire. You could also go wireless.

First off I want to say that I did not buy another controller for my GameCube yet, but bought the platinum edition system and it came with one controller. My first color pick for the GameCube was this, and that would be followed by Black and then blue, anyway I am here to review the GameCube controller in general.
It is nice and compact, and very comfotable to hold and play. The L and R buttons are a nice place to rest your fingers on when playing, I love everything about the controller. I admit the X Y and the kydney shaped ones are hard to get straight but they arent like the PS2's and Xboxes with all those shapes! Definetely get a gamecube! The controllers rock!

My mom got this for me a few weeks ago and it is so much better than a crappy lookin' wireless controller!
you should buy this rather than a crappy wireless controller!
